Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield Bank”) today reported 2007 third quarter net income of $39.6 million, a record for the Group and up 14.4% year on year. Pre-tax net income was $41.6 million, up 16.3% on a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $0.46, up 7 cents year on year and up 5 cents on the previous quarter.

Moody’s upgrade Butterfield Bank’s long and short term deposit ratings Hamilton, Bermuda – 6 March 2007: After a major review of the world’s banks, Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Butterfield Bank’s long-term deposit rating by three notches from A3 to Aa3.
